On Saturday, 22nd September 2007, Tiara Tours was officially opened.

of this page.
The opening of Tiara Resort was officiated by Mr. Gerrit Zalm, former
Dutch minister of finances, having travelled to Mongolia's Terelj National
Park especially to attend the event.
Prior to the opening ceremony,
Mr. Zalm and invited guests from the
Netherlands and Mongolia were taken on a tour through Terelj National
Park, demonstrating a part of the excursion possibilities offered at
Tiatra Resort. They completed an
eight-kilometer trek with a picnic lunch
at a Terelj scenic site, visited a nomad family
and enjoyed a horse trek through some of the
most beautiful Mongolian countryside
in the National Park.
Additionally, guests were shown around the resort, taking a look
at Tiara Resort's conference
and seminar facilities, snooker and
billiard room, bar and restaurant, internet facilities (with high
speed satellite connection), bicycle rental,
playgrounds and accommodation facilities, made up of
29 traditionally furnished gers, 12
family mountain villas and eight luxury
rooms with sweeping views over the
surrounding Terelj valley.
Then it was time to cut the opening lines and to exchange Dutch and
Mongolian flags, symbolising the joint venture operation of
the resort. After a joint dinner with traditional Mongolian live music
in Tiara Resort's sparkling new restaurant, the Grand Opening was concluded
with an evening party. Guests enjoyed a huge bonfire at the Resort's
site, lighting up the immensely dark night sky over Terelj.
Getting Tiara Resort fully operational proved a big achievement, having
overcome many difficulties both prior and during construction phase.
Harsh winter weather, the unfortunate death of the first contractor and
other delays had threatened the opening deadline. Nevertheless, visitors
of Mongolia are now invited to enjoy the resort's unique location and
features, all year round! Where else in Mongolia can one enjoy a +26C
swimming pool while looking out over the -26C winter landscape of Terelj
valley?
